30 for 30

Frankly Speaking

Frank, as I see it, is a perfect name for a dog.

You may recall my first instalment on why Frank is a perfect name for a dog, because we are honest and sincere. Obviously, Frank is a perfect name for a dog.

But Frank was also the name of a very famous lover of nature. He was a Saint (although he more commonly went by Francis). And there is a very famous story about St Francis. There was a wolf that was said to be scaring everyone in the town. So St Francis went up into the hills to find the wolf. But he didn’t hurt the wolf. He brought the wolf back down to the town and he made a promise between the wolf and the town dogs and people. The wolf wouldn’t hurt them any more, and the townspeople were to feed and take care of the wolf.

I think a lot of frightened and uncertain dogs must feel a lot like that poor wolf. They just need a bit of understanding, a bit of reassurance, a relationship. A promise.

Yes. Frank, as I see it, is a perfect name for me.

If you would like to make a promise with me, please contact Glendee Rescue to adopt me!
