Let’s meet Krissie!

C4D583F9-579F-48EE-866C-24D66A691ED8BTD: How did you come to find yourself in rescue?

Krissie: I had a very terrible start to life, being part of the horrible puppy mill industry. But I was so lucky to be rescued along with some pals and now I have a chance at a whole new life.

BTD: Knowing how bad your old life was, how do you feel about humans now?

Krissie: I am still quite frightened of people. Even after I have met them I can still be a bit nervous for a while. I have met some of the worst of people in my life, but I am now being helped by some of the best.

BTD: Do you enjoy cuddles yet?

Krissie: I like to lie on the sofa and get gentle tickles, but I do not like being picked up. I get a bit scared and worried about what this might mean. If I don’t like being touched though I just freeze. I am so scared of people.

BTD: Our very own Huw was exactly the same when he arrived, Krissie. He would just freeze. But he gained lots of confidence from our Finnegan. And now he is the biggest little dog in the world. You are in very special company. Would you like to live with another dog?

Krissie: That’s exactly why I would love to live with another doggy. And it would help me learn about toys as well. Because I don’t understand toys either. I never got to play in my old life.

BTD: And what about cats?

Krissie: I don’t mind cats at all, I would happily live with cats, but they would need to come with their own doggy as well. Because I really want to live with another doggy.

BTD: What is your favourite thing about your new life?

Krissie: Going for walks. You couldn’t possibly know how wonderful it is to go for a walk, after a life in a cage. It is the most amazing thing in the world.

BTD: What does it mean to be part of 30 for 30?

Krissie: It means a lot to me. To go from being a little dog alone in a cage to a house full of people and dogs and even cats … well, that would mean the whole world!
