That’s Jeffervescent! – by Jefferson Airplane
These are tights.
They are also sometimes called stockings (although stockings are technically just very long socks) and pantihose (or pantyhose), because apparently they are pants attached to a hosepipe, which is faintly ridiculous. Not once have I seen these being used to water the garden or put out fires.
I am not entirely sure what they are for, although I think it is primarily for a game I like to play with Human. Socks too. The object of the game is that Human tries to get the sock or the tights and put them over the foot before I can grab them and take them off again. This game is enormously fun. I could play for hours.
Sometimes I am forced to play with tights by myself, however, or with Aubrey or Huw or Howard. We all quite enjoy playing with old tights. Human sometimes puts them in our baskets to play tug with before they are finally recycled with the other rags.
But the particular case of today’s tights was rather special. This pair of tights was in a sealed cardboard packet. This meant that removing them was twice as fun because I also got to tear up the cardboard before going to work on the tights. And you know how I feel about cardboard! Today’s game was the game that just kept on giving!
The cardboard and tights combo? That’s Jeffervescent!
