This is my new purple bone.

It is not just any bone, it is a real funny bone. It is purple and chewy and it even squeaks. So, as you can imagine, when Human brought it home I was on it like a dog with a bone.

Howard loves it too, but we are such good pals that it never becomes a bone of contention.

Purple is a very special colour around here. It was always Finnegan’s colour. When Finnegan passed away, Deputy gave Human a very special necklace that is a big, purple amethyst, in memory of a special hound. And we have planted lots of lavender for Finnegan and the bees.

And I can see why Finnegan’s colour was purple. Because do you know what is really special about purple? It isn’t a colour on its own, it is always a combination of two – red and blue. Purple is always about togetherness.

So I love purple, and I love my purple bone.
