That’s Jeffervescent! – by Jefferson Airplane
I have some super friends.
You may remember that I Jeffervesced about the wonders of takeaway menus a few weeks ago in Take Out, Take Away, Take on Me!
Well, some fabulous pals in the United States (that’s very far away by the way, I can’t walk there and I can’t get there by bus) thought I should take away across the globe! So they sent me a wonderful selection of takeaway menus from their favourite restaurants in their part of the world, Oregon, Illinois.
I am very excited to try out international cuisine. There are all sorts of things in here that we simply don’t get through our letterbox. There is American farmer cuisine (which includes “The Hired Man’s Breakfast” and “The Farmer’s Daughter”), the butterburgers, the buff bowls, father and son teams, the world’s greatest gourmet sandwiches, and everything from the Pride of Oregon to the Shamrock Pub! And the thing that made me realise it’s a small world after all, Five Guys Burgers and Fries (we have one just up the road!).
It was such a super surprise when this package arrived today. And all this food wasn’t even stopped by Customs!
I really like this kind of surprise. And I really appreciate it. You may have heard of a man called Samuel Johnson. He was a man of letters (just like me). Samuel Johnson wrote the very first English dictionary (I learnt that on a documentary called Blackadder). Well, he said that you should always set a high value on spontaneous kindness. Well, I can assure you, I value this wonderful and spontaneous kindness very highly indeed. And as today is Human’s birthday, what great timing for such a super surprise! I’ve got a lot to eat here though, so I’d better get cracking!
Some humans are simply as wonderful as terriers.
Spontaneous kindness? That’s Jeffervescent!
