Christmas

Deputy the Snowman!

Who’s debonair with the red chef’s hat?

Muffler of wool and a tummy that’s (not actually) fat?

Cook for a day (and the rest of the year!)

With a wooden spoon cane and a heart of gold

That’s Deputy the Snowman

He’s a jolly happy soul

With a corncob pipe and a button nose

And two eyes made out of coal

Deputy the Snowman

Is a fairy tale they say

He was made of snow

But the pooches know

How he came to life one day

There must have been some magic in

That red chef’s hat they found

For when they placed it on his head

He began to dance around …

So Aubrey Aubretised him …

Deputy the Snowman

Was alive as he could be

And the pooches say

He could laugh and play (and even cook!)

Just the same as you and me

Deputy the Snowman

Knew the stove was hot that day

So he said let’s run

And we’ll have some fun

Now before I melt away (into the kitchen to start cooking for 12 hours …)

So down to the Wreck Room

With a chew stick in his hand

Running to and from and room to room

Saying catch me if you can

He led them down the halls of the house

Right to the traffic cop (aka Human)

And he only paused a moment when

He heard Human holler stop (but in a gentle way …)

For Deputy the Snowman

Had to hurry on his way

There were pies to bake and some Christmas cake

He’ll be cooking the whole day

For Deputy the Snowman

Had to hurry on his way

But he waved goodbye

Saying don’t you cry

I’ll be back again some day

Thumpety thump thump

Choppity chop chop

Cookity cook cook

Look at Deputy go

Thumpety thump thump

Cookity cook cook

Over the stoves aglow!

Merry Christmas everybody!

Lots of love from the whole Be That Dog family!
