December 18 and Santa’s here in one week! This window looks out on the trust we should seek.

Today, give someone the benefit of the doubt.

Sometimes people seem to be making excuses, or making trouble, or simply making a nuisance of themselves. But instead of getting upset or annoyed, try giving them the benefit of the doubt. Instead of getting suspicious, try taking them at their word. Most of the time, even if someone is motivated by malice, getting angry achieves little more than your own hurt. But giving the benefit of the doubt can take the bad out of a situation and may even make it possible to get around to the good.

So as you open today’s window and clear the air, don’t forget share the benefit of your stories in all the usual ways – Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, email – give everyone the real benefit of the doubt.
