Nobody puts Chouquette in a corner

Which worked out well for me, because it means that Chouquette’s irresistible charms got me out of the corner, out of the shadows where I was hiding.

I’m a very shy boy, and when I arrived in rescue I wasn’t sure what to do. Then I met Chouquette and my whole world changed. I had a running mate, a friend, a dance partner. Chouquette taught me to dance! She gave me more confidence, she made me feel safe when I approached new people, she taught me to play! You might say that Chouquette really gave me a life.

And I found out that there were some very special humans out there, humans that would do everything to try and turn my life around. They didn’t mind that I was 9 years old and scared of my own shadow. As that other great Donnie said (Ok maybe it was Johnny, but it should have been Donnie … ), “there are people willing to stand up for other people no matter what it costs them.”

Dogs are people too. And I have somebody “who’s taught me about the kind of person I wanna be.” Miss Chouquette. And now nobody puts us in a corner!
