It’s almost time to ring in the New Year here in London.

Auntie Simba and Uncles Yum Yum and Benny have already welcomed the New Year in Australia. And in just a few hours 2018 will arrive here too.

Last year we started a new tradition of the New Year Tree. Friends from all around the world can send messages or resolutions or memories to the tree, and on New Year’s Day we bring them all together in a special post to see in the New Year. We want to celebrate the New Year with as many friends as possible. And we want to celebrate that friendship in the Tree. We may be 1000s of miles apart, but we hope that the Tree can bring many of us together for 2018.

This year for each message for the tree we have tied a golden ribbon on the tree. Why a ribbon? Because adding a ribbon to things has become a universal symbol to show you care. And we hope that 2018 will be a caring year.
