If you mean, is every dog going to love you and never blame you for what some horrible people in the past might have done … if you mean, is every dog going to snuggle you and remember every day how lucky they are that you came along … if you mean, is every dog going to look forward and love each day as it comes. Then, yes. Every dog is an Alfie.

I’ve had some terrible things happen in my past, and I’ve been very let down. But I’ve also been rescued and loved and shown a whole new world. So you might say, “What I loved once and what I love now are two different things.” And I am loving that difference.

So is every dog an Alfie?

Well, I don’t know. But I do know that this Alfie is most definitely that dog.
