Dogs on Film!

A Little Beddie Told Me

Gossip and Entertainment News every Friday with Huw Le Lytle

Butters the dog was seen in Los Angeles last week after his human had strayed the night before. Butters is a Cavalier King Charles and Poodle mix, and the victim of a broken home. He was seen escorting his actor human back home after a rather embarrassing indiscretion and a night astray.

And dogs everywhere are getting excited to walk the red carpet at the NY Dog Film Festival, which will be held at the Brattle Theatre, 17 June, in Cambridge, Massachusetts (sadly not Cambridge, England). There is an amazing line-up of films on offer, and tickets are only $15. The plane ticket for me to get there, however, is considerably more.

And as if that weren’t exciting enough, the dogs in the US are getting even more culture, with the Bow Wow Film Festival touring the country as well. In fact, it will next be in Seattle, Washington, 7 June.

And I was very astonished to see that Howard would be driving in the Indianapolis 500 to raise awareness of animal cancer research. But it turned out to be Jay Howard, with his No 77 Team One Cure Honda. Howard has teamed up with former driver Tony Stewart, who has been a long-time advocate for animal welfare. And together they are raising awareness for Team One Cure, the animal cancer charity. Unfortunately Howard came last, after having a massive crash with another driver. But thankfully everyone is ok.

And Copper has become the star of this season’s The Bachelorette on US television. Copper is a rescue dog and is accompanying his human on the show while she interviews male humans for the role of Copper’s pooper scooper and treats fetcher. I presume.

Getting ready for next year’s film festivals, Jeff is looking for that script. He just hopes he hasn’t chewed it up already. Howard is hoping that it is going to be a musical.
