That’s Jeffervescent! – by Jefferson Airplane
This is my Gorilla toy.
Like all precious toys, he was once one of Finnegan Otterhound’s favourite squeaky toys. Amazingly he is still here and still intact.
And like all precious toys, my Gorilla squeaks, although perhaps with slightly less gusto and slightly more whistle than he once did.
I love him so much that sometimes I fall asleep with him mid-squeak. Squeaking relaxes me.
Although he bears a striking resemblance to the famous Magilla Gorilla, I do not think that he is Magilla Gorilla. Magilla Gorilla always wore trousers. My Gorilla is completely starkers.
Also, Melvin Peebles kept trying to sell Magilla Gorilla. But I would never ever sell my Gorilla. How much is that Gorilla in the window? Why, he is priceless!
Magilla Gorilla has a lot of influential dog friends, however. He has appeared in Huckleberry Hound’s movie, The Good, the Bad, and Huckleberry Hound, as well as in Scooby-Doo! In Arabian Nights, where he played the role of Sinbad. And his most recent cinematic appearance was a cameo in the 2013 masterpiece, Scooby-Doo! Mask of the Blue Falcon, proving that Magilla Gorilla is still culturally relevant.
But selling a Gorilla is most certainly not Jeffervescent.
A Gorilla is for life! That’s Jeffervescent!
