That's Jeffervescent!

Remote Access

That’s Jeffervescent! – by Jefferson Airplane

This is a remote control.

I never chew it. I know how important television is as a cultural institution. No, I use the remote control in the ways intended … sleeping in front of the television, randomly changing channels.

This is the one that changes the channels. And I do this really rather regularly. Once Human actually thought it was the same programme and got quite confused indeed.

There is another one, which pauses and fast forwards and a bunch of other stuff. I also use that occasionally as well. This usually leaves everyone wondering about the director’s choices when they are in the middle of watching something. Why is everything suddenly in slow motion? No, it has not suddenly become an Instagram video. I have simply pressed the slow-mo button.

During sofa zoomies, television watching can become quite ridiculous as we jump on and off the remote about 100 times. Assuming the humans haven’t already run for cover and are still watching the television, a quick round of sofa zoomies turns everyday television into an art film. I think maybe we should film the result next time and submit it to Cannes. I am sure it would get selected for the Un Certain Regard section.

Doing tricks with the television? That’s Jeffervescent!
