That’s Jeffervescent! – by Jefferson Airplane
This is a Pom-Pom.
This Pom-Pom used to be on a poncho that was being worn by a chair. It is pink, it is woolly, it is shaped like a ball … it is almost all my favourite things! I saw it, I liked it, I went in for the wool-gathering. I tugged and tugged and tugged it, and then the Pom-Pom snapped off and was mine.
For a while it was wonderful, it was all Pom-Pom and circumstance. But then Howard turned up and together we went for wool and came home shorn. That’s right, what started out as a fun game ended up in the rapid end of the Pom-Pom and the recovery of its shattered threads by Human. You might say that, in our enthusiasm, we literally pulled the wool over each other’s eyes.
So the Pom-Pom is no more. But it was worth it for the five minutes of woolly Jeffervescence! And don’t tell Human, but there’s another one still on the poncho. Without the other one, that’s just silly. So to keep the balance, I will go after it next.
A woolly Pom-Pom? That’s Jeffervescent!
