That’s Jeffervescent! – by Jefferson Airplane
This is my sheep.
There are other sheep in the toy box, but she is the pink sheep of the family. Sheep aren’t usually pink, but I suspect that if they are especially charming then they are pink. In fact, my sheep might say, “I am the very pink of courtesy.”
In fact, I had trouble thinking of one pink thing that isn’t charming … Peppa Pig, the Pink Panther, Pink Floyd. And then I remembered. Prudence.
When we were in Brighton I met Prudence, the pink Flamingo. She wasn’t especially charming. She was in fact decidedly wooden. She is so scary, she lays rocks instead of eggs and scares the sheepdog out of Aubrey. But Flamingoes are usually pink, so I guess she can get away with it.
Anyway, my pink sheep used to make a noise (no-one can remember if it was a squeak or a honk or a grunt or a baa), but she stopped making a noise long before I met her. I think this is because she was once so tickled pink by a doggy pal that the squeak went right out of her. Now she just rattles with whatever is left of the squeak inside her.
But she is still so much fun, and playing with her puts me in the pink!
A pink sheep? That’s Jeffervescent!
